Other, Vervoerregio Amsterdam
Amsterdam, NetherlandsSanne van Breukelen is project leader Infrastructure and Zero Emission at the Vervoerregio Amsterdam, the Public Transport Authority for the City Region Amsterdam. She loves redesigning public space to improve our cities: both to make movement possible (mobility) and to make encounters possible. She enjoys the implementation of Charging Infrastructure for Zero Emission buses because it incorporates both intensive cooperation with partly new partners and the role to encourage and inspire others to do the same. She studied Sociology and International Relations, and at the same time strongly appreciated her beta subjects in high school. She is the mother of 3 children and lives on a houseboat in Amsterdam.
Implementation Zero Emission Bus in the City Region Amsterdam
In recent conferences on Zero Emission Buses both organised by UITP and other parties it has become clear: the time of pilots and first trials has now passed. The time has come for grand scale introduction. In the Amsterdam City Region we have experienced grand scale introduction in Amstelland Meerlanden: 100 OC buses. Right now we are in the midst of another grand scale implementation (2nd batch Amstelland Meerlanden) and at the same time we are preparing the introduction of Zero Emission buses in our northern concession (Zaanstreek-Waterland). This presentation is a description of what we’ve faced in practice: the challenges we encountered and the lessons we have learned. Ultimate goal is to inspire and probably even help other parties in their projects.
